Properly Titling Your Assets

All too often families cause complications to their estate plans by not understanding the correct way to title their assets.
Whether you have a will-based or trust-based estate plan, there are certain rules to live by. Northwest Bank & Trust Company’s Investment Management Group has scheduled a free informational presentation that will address such questions as: How should I title my checking account? Should my Trust, or Will, be the beneficiary of my IRA? Should I add my daughter as a co-owner on my checking account so she can write checks for me? What problems do I cause with Payable on Death designations?

Come learn the simple and easy ways to effectively title your assets that will complement your estate plans. Senior Vice President Cody Allen will present this educational program in the Northwest Bank boardroom, 2nd floor, 100 East Kimberly Road, Davenport at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 13.

Cody manages the Investment Management Group at Northwest Bank. He is a graduate of Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa. Cody holds a Certified Retirement Services Professional (CRSP) designation and has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. He is also a graduate of the Cannon Institute.
