Spring Hike at Sylvan Island

April 26 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

It’s time to jump out of the winter blues and enjoy a Spring hike! Join us on Saturday, April 26, at 11:00 AM. We will meet at 1st Ave & 2nd Street, Moline in the parking lot in front of the Sylvan Island bridge. This will be approximately a 3-mile hike that will end within 1 ½ hours. There is no entrance fee.

We will hike the walking path that circles the island, with moderate dirt bike paths throughout the interior of the island. Sylvan Island is an abandoned industrial site of approximately 37 acres. It is a picturesque natural area that offers a serene escape from urban life. This small island, situated in the Mississippi River, is renowned for its lush greenery, scenic trails, and diverse wildlife. Parking and restroom facilities are available.

We suggest that you be in good physical condition for walking, are used to hiking on wooded/rock trails, wear good supportive hiking shoes, and choose appropriate layered attire in anticipation of the morning spring weather. Please bring your own water and a snack.

Text or call Connie at 563-528-2355 by Friday, April 25, to advance register for this free local event. Provide your name and Plus 60 membership number for the event’s registration list.
