Day #1 – Monday, October 26, 2020
We are off! Sit back, relax and enjoy the company of your traveling companions as we journey to Indiana for our first overnight stay. Midafternoon finds us at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Join us as we take a lap around this famed 2.5-mile oval track. You will have an opportunity to do what race winners have done since 1996 “Kiss the Bricks”. We have also included a self-guided museum tour. Our overnight is in Indianapolis. (Kick Back Reception)
Day #2 – Tuesday, October 27, 2020
After an included breakfast we continue traveling through Kentucky today, stopping at Berea for lunch at the historic Dinner Bell. Miss Dora has been serving up delicious food for 30 years. Later we travel to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and our accommodations for the next three nights. This evening we enjoy the entertaining Hatfield & McCoy’s “Dinner Disaster Show”. Become part of the longest running feud in history…can you help settle their differences?
Day #3 – Wednesday, October 28, 2020
This morning we take a drive through Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The scenery is beautiful. Watch for the wildlife residing in the park. The park has one of the most diverse collections of flora and fauna in the United States. We spend the afternoon at Dolly Parton’s famous musical theme park – Dollywood. Nestled in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains, Dollywood has something for everyone “Country, Bluegrass, Mountain Music, Craftsmen demonstrating blacksmithing, glass blowing and wood carving”. Tonight, we enjoy an included festive dinner with all the trimmings at the locally famous Applewood Farmhouse. Next, we take our seats for an evening of entertainment at the Smoky Mountain Opry. The area’s largest variety show featuring music from Big Band Swing through today’s country. Marvel at special effects, laser lights, and dazzling costumes.
Day #4 – Thursday, October 29, 2020
Following breakfast, we board the motorcoach to head across the Smokies to Bryson City, NC to meet the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad for our afternoon excursion. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Great Smoky Mountains while traveling through the quiet countryside. We pass by the famous movie set of The Fugitive featuring Harrison Ford. A box lunch is included. We return to Pigeon Forge where you will have free time to explore The Island at Pigeon Forge. There are many options at this shopping and restaurant mecca for you to choose from for dinner including Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, Dick’s Last Resort, and YeeHaw Brewing Company just to name a few.
Day #5 – Friday, October 30, 2020
Following our breakfast, it is time to leave the Smoky Mountains behind and make our way to Louisville, KY. After checking into the hotel, you have time to freshen for tonight we have reservations at the Derby Dinner Playhouse.
Day #6 – Saturday, October 31, 2020
Happy Halloween! After an included breakfast we are homeward bound arriving back in the Midwest in the early evening.
