Playcrafters: Witness for the Prosecution
March 30 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Playcrafters Barn Theatre is welcoming Plus 60 members for a benefit performance on Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. The play is an adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “Witness for the Prosecution” directed by Victor Angelo. Leonard Vole is an unemployed inventor, his latest contraption being a new-fangled egg beater. He is married, but through a chance encounter, became friendly with a rich widow, Emily French. When Vole is accused of her murder, revered lawyer Sir Wilfrid Robarts is assigned to lead the defense. Robarts believes his client to be innocent but his alibi rests on the testimony of Vole’s wife, Christine. The stakes are high with shocking witness testimony, impassioned outbursts from the gallery, and a young man’s desperate fight to escape the hangman’s noose.
Generally regarded as one of Christie’s most accomplished plays, this suspenseful thriller keeps audiences guessing until the very end! Join us and witness the events as the plot unfolds.
