Healthy Habits Over Lunch: Safety in the Home

Unless you have recently had a stroke, or maybe a knee or hip replacement, I am willing to bet that the topic of safety in the home rarely comes up. Until now. Do you know that the biggest fear of people our age is? Falling, or worse yet, falling with injury. This is a topic no one can ignore. Think about the last time YOU took a fall.

Continuing in our series of Healthy Habits is our next presentation by Genesis Over Lunch. This quarter’s topic is Safety in the Home. Our speaker will be Chris Beuthin, PT, DPT. GCS, CLT. (I’m guessing she is more than qualified to help us in this area!) She will guide us step-by-step through our homes, showing us what changes we can incorporate to make our lives not only better, but much safer. The Iowa presentation is scheduled on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Adler Health Education Center, lower level, at 1236 E Rusholme St, Davenport. The Illinois presentation is on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Larson Center, 801 Illini Dr., Silvis. Times for both locations are from noon to 1 PM. Genesis will provide a free box lunch for this informative event, but membership in the Plus 60 Club is required to register and attend this lunch. This offer is limited to the first 160 members responding.
