Chicago River Lunch Cruise, Macy’s and Walnut Room

This trip has sold out! Unfulfilled received registration requests will be held by the Club in postmark order on the Club’s Wait List and remain unprocessed unless one or more seats become available due to a registration cancelation request.  Members will be contacted directly to confirm their availability to still travel if an opportunity arises to fulfill an on-file wait-listed request.  If the request cannot be fulfilled, the submitted paperwork will be shredded. 

Join us for the Quad City Plus 60 Club’s chartered motorcoach summer day trip to Chicago on Thursday, August 29.
Upon arrival in Chicago at 11:00am, we will begin our adventure with boarding the Odyssey vessel docked on the north shore of the Chicago River for a 2-hour narrated premier luncheon cruise on the river’s main and south branches featuring landmark city architecture, such as Willis Tower, Navy Pier, and the Old Chicago Post Office. You’ll enjoy the comfortable climate-controlled interior deck while seated for your 3-course plated lunch that you select from your server’s presented menu of:

• a Starter (choice of either a Watermelon and Feta Salad or a Crab and Corn Chowder.
• a Main featuring a choice of 1) Buttermilk-Brined Chicken Breast with mustard-glazed marble potatoes, marinated artichokes, baby zucchini and apricot preserves, or 2) Atlantic Striped Bass with Castelvetrano olives, Herb Couscous, asparagus, and Fines Herb Vinaigrette, or 3) a vegetarian Lemon Potato Gnocchi with Baby Zucchini, Spring Peas, and shaved Parmesan Reggiano.
• a Dessert featuring a choice of 1) Basque ‘Spanish Style’ Cheesecake with Mascarpone Whipped Cream, Fig Raspberry Reduction and Blackberries, or 2) Tres Leches with whip cream, fresh berries and Kiwi, or 3) Mixed Berries and Pineapple with fresh Mint and Lime Spritz.

Your lunch is accompanied by unlimited coffee, hot tea, iced tea, and water. You have the option of ordering alcoholic beverages from the cash bar, and during the cruise there is time to enjoy the vessel’s open-air spaces.

At the conclusion of the cruise, we will reboard our motorcoach and transfer to the State Street Macy’s department store for independent afternoon free time to browse and shop on State Street followed by a 5:00pm seated group dinner in Macy’s famous Walnut Room before returning to Moline. Each trip passenger will pre-select their Walnut Room plated dinner entrée choice on the trip’s Registration Form. All early dinner entrée choices include:

• a Walnut Room Salad consisting of mixed greens, mandarin slices, almonds, and Signature Toasted Sesame dressing.
• Frango Mint Ice Cream Pie dessert consisting of graham cracker crust, Frango mint chocolate ice cream, chocolate sauce, and fresh whipped cream.
• a choice of included beverages: Starbucks coffee, tea, soft drink, and water.
